Mobiles: dynamic structures

As Nicolas has written in a comment in the last entrance, this is an artistic way to do mobiles. Very similar to those you've been doing this holidays.

The image has been obtained from Juanjo Frechilla's web page. Probably it is copyrighted but from here we thanks him to let us show his work for educational purposes.

Thanks Juanjo.

Dear students.
This is the first entrance for this new 2011-2012 course. I encourage you to take a look to the previous entrances, that could be very interesting for your technology knowledge and development.

Following the aim of curiosity about the topics in this blog, take a look to this video in which the author has developed and so it can be seen, a micro engine.

As it's described in spanish in the Youtube source this is:
It's a V-12 injection air-compressed engine hand-built by artisan way. Perhaps it's the smallest engine in the world of this kind. It has 12 cm3 cylinders, 10mm pistons and 11,3 mm cilynder diameter. It just works with  0,1 Kg/cm2 and it has been built of stainless steel, aluminum and bronze.

Enjoy it

Mechanisms

I would like to introduce you a new task, or perhaps a new trial.
This is what to do:
CREATE A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION WHERE SOME MECHANISMS from one of the below mentioned groups HAVE TO BE SHOWN IN MOVEMENT. This means that in every sheet in the presentation an animation picture has to be shown. DO NOT INSERT STATICAL DRAWINGS OR PHOTOGRAPHS, JUST ANIMATIONS.

Some topics can be selected:
1.- Linear motion mechanism
2.- Rotary-Linear Converters
3.- Gears
4.- Pulleys
5.- Any other.

Internet is your hunt place to find the animations, OR.... Perhaphs you know some tool to develop animation drawings and then, you will be able to create your own designs.

IMPORTANT: 2 EXTRA POINTS MAXIMUM WILL BE APPLIED INTO YOUR MARK WHEN FINISHING THE WORK.

Would you like to answer a test about structures lesson
